Wren is published by Spencer Fields, a sole trader established in the United Kingdom, at Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole, BH16 6FA. Installing or using Wren means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, delete the app.
Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with anything here, Apple's terms take precedence.
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Wren on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not resell it, rent it out, or attempt to extract its source in order to redistribute it. The app's source is published separately on GitHub under its own licence, and that licence — not this one — governs what you may do with the code.
Wren is free to use for guides of up to three places, and reading a screenshot is free at any size. Two things are paid for, each once:
Both may be bought together for less than the two apart. Where you already own the first, the second is offered at the difference rather than the full price.
Some people are given a complimentary code instead of paying. A code is a favour rather than a purchase: it can be withdrawn at any time, and a code that also grants administrative access has to be re-confirmed with Wren's code server from time to time, so it lapses if it cannot be. None of that applies to the purchases above, which are yours.
When you share a link to a reel or a post, Wren's server fetches that post, has a language model read the place names out of it, returns the names to your phone, and discards everything else. Wren keeps nothing about the post. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent and what is kept.
A fair-use allowance applies: 250 posts per rolling thirty days, per purchase. The window rolls rather than resetting on the first of the month, so the app tells you the date your allowance returns. The allowance exists because each reading costs money to serve. It is not a limit on the purchase, which does not expire; it is a limit on how fast it may be used.
Wren is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or any other platform. It processes only a link you choose to give it, to content those platforms host. A post that is private, deleted, age-restricted or unavailable in your country cannot be read, and Wren will say so rather than guess.
Names read out of a post are a machine's reading of somebody else's words, and can be wrong in the same way a reading of a screenshot can. Wren shows every one for you to check before anything is saved, and looks each up on the map the same way — a match can be the wrong place, and it is worth a glance before you rely on it.
This feature depends on services outside Wren's control: the platforms that host the posts, the service that fetches them, and the model that reads them. If any of them stops being available on terms Wren can meet, the feature may have to be changed or withdrawn. Wren will say so plainly if that happens, and the rest of the app is unaffected.
Purchases are made through Apple, not through Wren, so refunds are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Wren cannot issue refunds directly, because it never receives your payment.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
Wren finds places using Apple Maps and creates guides in Apple Maps. The place data, the addresses, the search results and the guides themselves are Apple's, not Wren's.
Two consequences worth stating plainly:
Do not use Wren to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to place content into Apple Maps that you have no right to place there. Do not attempt to interfere with the app or with Apple's services through it.
Wren is provided as it is. It is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted, error-free, or to find every place correctly. To the fullest extent the law allows, all implied warranties are excluded.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to the paragraph above, liability arising from your use of Wren is limited to the amount you paid for it. Wren is a convenience for saving places; it is not a navigation service, and decisions about where to travel remain yours.
You can stop using Wren at any time by deleting it. These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are; continuing to use the app after a change means accepting it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the place you live.
